Manila court convicts businessman over Canada waste importation

MANILA, Philippines — The Manila Regional Trial Court (RTC) has found a business owner guilty of illegally importing hazardous waste materials from Canada, sentencing him to 12 years and one day to 20 years in prison, the Department of Justice (DOJ) said. In a statement, the DOJ said the business owner aided in the importation
